AUTO  MUSEUM  MELLE

Start on August 16, 1997.

The Auto Museum, earlier placed near the summer toboggan-slide at Ibbenbüren, had opened it's doors in Melle. The 'History of Wheels' will be presented to the visitors.

In monumental-saved halls of an old furniture factory there are nearly 3.000 square meters placing the vehicles. Conceptional, to show first class vehicles - borrowed from the owners - in a permanent rotation, can be perfected in Melle furthermore. Within the last 13 years in Ibbenbüren 550 different models were counted!

The Museum is placed nearby Melle railway station, where other popular tourist attractions are like the Waldbühne (an open air theatre placed in the forest), the Wildpark and the nearby Diedrichsburg (a historical castle) surrounded of the Wiehengebirge with attractive offers to hike. Especially for school classes or greater groups the Auto Museum is an attractive target to make a day-trip to it.

The Museum will be opened on saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and on sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. With special agreements it also can be visited at other times.

Your way to the Museum:

The Auto Museum Melle is very easy to find lower the 'Meller Berge' behind the railway station. By car take the A 30 outgoing Melle-West / Drantum and follow the sign 'Meller Berge'. Right to the railway subway you will find the Pestelstraße.
